Edgewater is regaining its historic reputation for the place to grab a great pint of beer with the opening of its second brewery in town, Barquentine Brewing Company, this Saturday. The Grand Opening will be Saturday, February 29 at noon. Barquentine Brewing is located on the west side of the food hall at the recently opened Edgewater Public Market (5505 W. 20th Avenue).
Owner Ed Knudson applauded Edgewater’s common consumption law, “This will allow people to bring our beer out into the food hall and bring food from the food hall vendors into the brewery.”
Barquentine will launch with the following six beers on Saturday:
- SLOANS LAKE YACHT CLUB
Table Beer
Easy-sipping, straw-colored ale with a twinge of fruity yeast
5.2% ABV - LEAPLING
Kveik Pale Ale
New Zealand hops and Norwegian yeast combine to make a light-bodied, effervescent beer with a tropical aroma
5.2% ABV - SEA BEAR
Saison
Classic saison with all Colorado malt and noble hops
6.4% ABV - ET DEUX
Saison
Same base wort as Sea Bear with a unique blend of historic French and Wallonian saison yeasts
6.3% ABV - FOOTIE PAJAMMIES
Brune
All about rich caramelized and kilned barley that lends a deep ruby hue, burnt sugar aroma, and fig flavor. So cozy.
6.3% ABV - MINED, BOTTLED & SOLD
Gold Ale
Fermentation esters combine vanilla and bubblegum aroma with zesty spice. Has a hazy, golden appearance served in our house chalice.
8.6% ABV
