New Tenants and Vacancies Along Edgewater’s Historic 25th Avenue

Edgewater’s historic 25th Avenue has seen numerous businesses come and go throughout its history beginning in the late 1800s. From the early days of mud filled streets with its bars and brothels to the soda fountain at Edgewater Drug and the famous pizza of Edgewater Inn, the business spaces along 25th Avenue have stories to tell.

As we start this new decade, some of Edgewater’s business spaces along 25th Avenue are changing again with a shifting demographic and rising rents. Here’s a look at some of the new tenants and vacancies on 25th Avenue:

  • The Studio Gallery at 5229 West 25th Ave on the corner of Ames Street is closing and the space is up for lease.
  • Satchel’s Market is closed at 5350 West 25th Avenue just west of Edgewater Inn and word on the street is that something might open soon. We’ll keep you updated!
  • All Sacred Tattoo has closed their location at 5838 West 25th Avenue while their location in Wheat Ridge is still open. Their space and the space next door are vacant and up for lease.
  • The former Edgewater Library and Rec Room across the street are still in the development stage. City Street Investors is still working with architects and the City of Edgewater to get approval to move forward on redeveloping the property on the northeast corner of 25th and Gray.

Stay tuned for information on upcoming events in May to spotlight the businesses along 25th Avenue with the help of the Edgewater Business Association and Edgewater Collective including Roger’s Fun Run!

*Correction made: soda fountain was at Edgewater Drug at 25th and Sheridan not Central Drugs at 25th and Gray.

In your recent article regarding the changes on 25th Ave., you mentioned the “soda fountain in Central Drugs”. Don’t remember there being a soda fountain in Central Drugs but the one in the Edgewater Drug at 25th & Sheridan was an absolute hangout for those of us attending E.H.S. in the ’50’s.
