Edgewater Firework Restrictions

From the Edgewater Police Department:

Please have a description ready.
FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL.

Fireworks means any article, device or substance prepared for the primary purpose of producing a visual or auditory sensation by combustion, explosion, deflagration or detonation, including without limitation the following articles and devices: toy cannons or toy canes in which explosives are used, blank cartridges, firecrackers, torpedoes, skyrockets, rockets, Roman candles, Day-Glo bombs, aerial shells, sparklers, trick matches, torches, fountains or other fireworks of like construction, and any fireworks containing any explosive or flammable compound or any tablets or other device containing any explosive substance.

The Chief of Police or the Fire Chief (OR THEIR DESIGNEE) may seize, take, remove and destroy, at the expense of the violator, any and all fireworks offered or exposed for sale, stored, held or possessed in violation of this Subsection.

Firework Facts

  • Purchasing fireworks in another State and then transporting these fireworks across State lines is illegal in Colorado.
  • Only fireworks that do not leave the ground and do not explode are legal in Colorado.
  • Check local fire restrictions before using consumer fireworks (www.colorado.gov/dfpc)

Let’s ALL work together and keep everyone safe this July 4th season. Please refrain from using fireworks this season. The fire danger in Colorado is currently listed as “Extreme” and fireworks have been banned from many cities and venues, including Edgewater.
