Edgewater Business Spotlight: Firehouse BBQ

Walking around town, you might have noticed tents popping up at the former Edgewater Fire Station on the northeast corner of 25th Avenue and Gray Street. Part of the redevelopment of the area into the Edgewater Town Square, City Street Investors has brought Firehouse BBQ into the old firehouse.

Here’s our interview with Kirsten Becker of City Street Investors:

What drew you to open in Edgewater?

The City Street Investors family of businesses have been proudly supporting the Edgewater community for more than 10 years. As the owners and operators of both Sloan’s Bar & Grill and Pizzeria Forte, it is our pleasure to bring our guests another fun way to spend an afternoon or evening with us by activating the old fire station for the summer and into early autumn. We have been serving great BBQ at Sloan’s as something new and exciting for our guests to enjoy through takeout. We are expanding those delicious offerings and pairing them with some great beers and cocktails to create the Firehouse BBQ Beer Garden pop-up. We want to offer the neighborhood an outdoor space where they can come together, socialize safely, and enjoy time together while maintaining physical distance.

What do you offer in your space?

Operated by Sloan’s Bar & Grill and located at the corner of 25th and Gray Streets in Edgewater, Firehouse BBQ features house-smoked ribs, brisket, chicken, pulled pork and hot links, along with a variety of canned beer and spirits. Guests may also order off the food menus from Sloan’s Bar & Grill or Pizzeria Forte and have their food delivered to them at the Firehouse. Firehouse BBQ is open Thursdays through Sundays from 4 to 9 pm.

Is this a preview of things to come as we continue to develop the old Firehouse property? Could be, only time will tell! But rest assured, the best is yet to come at that address.
