Apply Now to be an Edgewater Sustainability Ambassador

From the Edgewater Sustainability Board:

The Sustainability Board in the City of Edgewater is launching a Sustainability Ambassador Program. While subject expertise is welcome, it is by no means required; Ambassadors need only to have an interest in helping Edgewater become more sustainable and see its Sustainability Plan actualized. Ambassadors may be called on to assist the city and/or board with various tasks including but not limited to the following (all keeping Ambassadors’ and residents’ safety in mind during COVID):

  • Joining the implementation and execution committee for PIE (Partners in Energy), a collaborative effort between Xcel energy and our city. We have a strategic plan in place and need a steering committee to help see it through.
  • Helping out at events (when we have them again) by helping educate residents on sustainability practices and opportunities
  • Managing the compost, landfill, and recycling stations at community events to mitigate contamination and ensure a successful waste stream at every event.
  • Canvassing local homes and businesses (again, safely with COVID in mind) to promote sustainability opportunities such as green business programs, and residential composting, and best practices for lawn and garden maintenance.
  • Distribution of compost and mulch.
  • Picking up bags of leaves in the fall to distribute to local farms.
  • Assist with alley clean up and beautification days.
  • Leading presentations at local apartment complexes (again, when safe)
  • Other opportunities where appropriate!

Apply here today, and please reach out to Hannah Gay Keao, Social Vibrancy Chair on the Sustainability Board, with questions at hgaykeao@edgewaterco.com.
