Edgewater Police: Life Saving Incident

From Edgewater Police Chief John Mackey:

EPD Officers had a female under arrest for narcotics in the holding cell recently when the female was found unresponsive and not breathing in the cell. Officer McCallin, who is also a trained paramedic, recognized that the female had suffered a drug overdose and immediately called West Metro Paramedics and administered a dose of Narcan into her left nostril. Officer McCallin reassessed the woman, but she was still unresponsive and unconscious, at which point he administered a second dose of Narcan into her right nostril. After the second dose, the female subject began to breathe forcefully and was responsive when West Metro arrived. The woman was transported to the hospital and recovered from her fentanyl overdose.

Nice job Officer McCallin!
