Edgewater Mayor and City Council Candidates Announced

The City Clerk’s Office just released the candidates who will be on the November 2021 ballot for Edgewater Mayor and City Council. We reached out to each candidate for a brief quote about their intention to run. We also included the candidate’s website if they have one.

Current Mayor Laura Keegan has decided not to run for another term. The terms for current City Councilors John Beltrone, Caleb Rountree, Hannah Gay Keao are up in November, so there are three spots open for four year terms. City Councilor Micha Rosenoer has stepped down from her role on Council, so the runner up for Council spots will complete the last two years on that term.

Early in October we will release a full spotlight on each candidate. The Edgewater Business Association will also be hosting a candidate forum in October.

Mayor Candidate

  • John Beltrone
    • “Although running unopposed, I do not want to miss out on the opportunity to connect with people to better understand what Edgewater’s issues and priorities are. As such, I’ll still be reaching out to residents until election day. Please feel free to connect with me or visit my campaign website to learn more.”

  • Bill Berg
    • “Our community is something special and my main focus as City Council member is to preserve the Edgewater way of life.”
  • Hannah Gay Keao
    • “It’s been an honor representing our community since I was appointed to City Council in April, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to build an even safer, more sustainable, and more equitable city moving forward. I am especially focused on serving Edgewater’s working families, children, and small businesses particularly as we continue to fight this Covid-19 pandemic.”

  • Liam Donevan
    • “I have spent the past five years of my professional life supporting and advocating for people with disabilities. These experiences have shown me the ways that federal, state, and local governments are failing to meet the needs of our most marginalized neighbors. I’m looking forward to doing my part to build Edgewater into a community that is equitable and just for everyone.”
