Jefferson Junior/Senior High School sent out communication to families this afternoon that the intersection of 24th Avenue and Pierce Street will be closed starting Tuesday, January 11 for the construction of a roundabout by the City of Edgewater. According to the school communication, the intersection will be closed for 6-8 weeks.
The drop-off and pickup area for Jefferson students is now in the south parking lot at 22nd Avenue and Pierce Street.
When completed, this will be the second roundabout in Edgewater. Construction of the roundabout at 20th Avenue and Harlan Street is not yet complete. This is part of the City of Edgewater Traffic Calming Mobility Plan (click here to read more).
