New Roundabout Open at 24th Avenue and Pierce Street

Another thoroughfare through Edgewater has been reopened as the work on the new roundabout at 24th Avenue and Pierce Street was completed on Sunday. Construction crews will be back out this week to make two minor corrections to the yield lettering on the street as “yield” was misspelled “yiled” on the south and west entrances to the roundabout.

Now crews will focus on traffic calming measures on 26th Avenue near the intersection of Kendall Street with the installation of an intersection chicane to slow speeds.

A view of 26th and Kendall from the City of Edgewater Traffic Calming Mobility Plan.

Here’s a great video from the Colorado Department of Transportation on how to navigate through roundabouts.

Hopefully, the misspellings for “Yield” will be fixed quickly.

Hi Jean. City staff has already notified the contractor that this needs to be corrected. Thanks!
