The award winning beers from Joyride and Barquentine
Edgewater is home to two award winning breweries! Both Joyride Brewing Company and Barquentine Brewing Company came away winners in the 2022 World Beer Cup. According to their website, “The Brewers Association developed the World Beer Cup Competition in 1996 to celebrate the art and science of brewing. Often referred to as ‘The Olympics of Beer Competitions,’ the World Beer Cup is the most prestigious beer competition in the world.”
Joyride Brewing Company took Gold for its Ice Cutter Kölsch in the German-Style Koelsch category. Barquentine Brewing Company took Silver for its Sloans Lake Yacht Club beer in the Belgian-Style Table Beer or Belgian-Style Session Ale category. Both beer names reference the history of the area and Sloan’s Lake.
Congratulations to both of our local, Edgewater breweries! This is the perfect weekend to take the Edgewater beer tour and try both of these beers.
