Mi Orgullo

La verdad yo nunca he tenido problemas en la escuela ni fuera de casa. Yo les agradezco a mis padres por bringing me into this world y por darme lo que puedan. También agradezco a mis abuelos por traer a mis papás a los Estados Unidos aunque era difícil cuando llegaron porque no sabían inglés. Yo estoy orgullosa de ser bilingüe porque puedo traducirlos o enseñarles a mis abuelos el inglés. Las cosas que yo hago son para hacer a mi familia orgullosa de la persona en quien me estoy convirtiendo todo eso empieza con migo siendo bilingüe porque es un privilegio que yo pueda saber dos idiomas.

Había un punto donde se me olvido el español aunque es mi primer idioma. Cuando me olvido el español era porque pensaba que era chido nomas hablar el ingles pero tenía muchas desventajas cuando eso paso porque no me podía comunicar con la mitad de las personas que conozco. Desde entonces, un año después, traté de recuperar mi español, y con la ayuda de mi familia pude recuperar mi español. Me di cuenta que cuando estaba hablando con mi hermanita que a ella también se le olvidaba el español por eso trato de hablar español con ella porque no quiero que le pase lo mismo que me paso a mi. Espero que no les pase lo mismo que me paso a mi porque si era difícil recuperar mi español. Algo que me ayudó a recuperar el español era hablar con mi papá él siempre me contaba historias de cómo era cuando él estaba en high school, también me contaba de cómo conoció a mi mamá. Lo que me encanto cuando hablaba con mi papá era cuando me contaba de como nos dieron nuestros nombres. A mí me encanta mi nombre porque es único, mi nombre significa flor. Este nombre también tiene un propósito en el calendario azteca, ya que Xóchitl es la diosa de la juventud, el amor.

Mi orgullo viene de toda mi familia, mi cultura, mis valores y mucho más. El orgullo de ser bilingüe nunca se me acabara porque me da muchos privilegios que nunca tuvieron mis papás, abuelos, etc. No sé lo que hubiera pasado si no tuviera a mi familia o si no les importara que se me había olvidado el inglés.

Me gustaría ayudar a más personas por si se les olvida el inglés o el español. También me gustaría tener el sello bilingüe cuando me gradué. Yo se que no va a ser fácil alcanzar mi meta pero si trabajo duro y me esfuerzo podré alcanzar mi meta. Le agradezco a mi familia también a mi maestra Mr.s Rodriguez por toda la ayuda y apoyo que me ha dado. Me graduaré con dos a lo mejor tres diplomas, los diplomas se los dedicaré a mi familia para hacer los orgullosos pero tampoco voy a parar ahí porque voy a seguir en la universidad y mucho más porque se lo merece mi familia.

My pride

The truth is that I have never had any problems at school or outside the home. I thank my parents for bringing me into this world and for giving me what they can. I also thank my grandparents for bringing my parents to the United States even though it was difficult when they arrived because they didn’t know English. I am proud to be bilingual because I can translate them or teach my grandparents English. The things that I do are to make my family proud of the person I am becoming. It all starts with me being bilingual because it is a privilege that I can speak two languages.

There was a point where I forgot Spanish even though it is my first language. When I forget Spanish it was because I thought it was cool to just speak English but I had a lot of disadvantages when that happened because I couldn’t communicate with half the people I know. Since then, a year later, I tried to get my Spanish back, and with the help of my family I was able to get my Spanish back. I realized that when I was talking to my little sister that she also forgot Spanish, that’s why I try to speak Spanish with her because I don’t want the same thing that happened to me to happen to her. I hope the same thing that happened to me does not happen to them because it was difficult to recover my Spanish. Something that helped me recover my Spanish was talking to my dad, he always told me stories about what he was like when he was in high school, he also told me about how he met my mom. What I loved when he talked to my dad was when he told me how they gave us our names. I love my name because it is unique, my name means flower. This name also has a purpose in the Aztec calendar, since Xóchitl is the goddess of youth, love.

My pride comes from my entire family, my culture, my values and so much more. The pride of being bilingual will never end because it gives me many privileges that my parents, grandparents, etc. never had. I don’t know what would have happened if I didn’t have my family or if they didn’t care that I had forgotten English.

I would like to help more people in case they forget English or Spanish. I would also like to have the bilingual seal when I graduate. I know it’s not going to be easy to reach my goal but if I work hard and work hard I will be able to reach my goal. I thank my family also my teacher Mrs. Rodriguez for all the help and support he has given me. I will graduate with two, maybe three diplomas, I will dedicate the diplomas to my family to make them proud but I am not going to stop there either because I am going to continue in the university and much more because my family deserves it.
