Joie Iten, Candidate for Edgewater City Council

Occupation

Business owner

What do you love about Edgewater?

Small community feeling

What do you view as the role of Edgewater City Council?

Being the voice and representation for the community as a whole

Which of Edgewater’s recent legislative actions is your least favorite? Which is your favorite?

Sustainability moving forward is very important, but I have done extensive research and am unsure being completely dependent on EV is the answer from a global perspective. Attainable and affordable housing is important for communities all over, taking actions and continuing the conversation is important for a sustainable and inclusive community moving forward for generations to come. I hope we can grow and be even more creative on what the current council has already started.

What role can Edgewater City Council play in supporting current small businesses and attracting new ones?

Communicating with the needs of the businesses, helping them grow and generating revenue is important.

Why should Edgewater residents vote for you?

My Goal is to have a conversation. Even if we do not agree and constructive conversation will help create purposeful and logical change vs disagreeing to the point where nothing gets done.
