From the Edgewater Public Market:
Barquentine Brewing Co. turns five years old this month, and they’re celebrating with a big party at Edgewater Public Market.
Barquentine Brewing 5th Anniversary Party
Saturday, March 29
11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The party features free live music from reggae artist Wylie Jones from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Millennial Romance, a female-fronted pop punk party band, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
They’ll have family friendly activities, including two bouncy castles for kiddos.
Barquentine will also debut their new food and beverage menu at the anniversary party, focused on a 75-year-old recipe for bierock, a savory pastry pocket sandwich that originated in eastern Europe.
“I began making my family’s bierocks more than 35 years ago,” said Barquentine co-owner Ed Knudson, “and I’ve modified the recipe since then in order to perfect the potato-based dough.”
The Barquentine Original Bierock is filled with seasoned ground beef, fresh sauerkraut, and a generous helping of mozzarella cheese. It pairs perfectly with Barquentine’s craft beer. Guests can purchase one bierock for $9, or a bierock, kettle chips, and a draft beer for $16. Barquentine will also offer fresh Bavarian pretzels for $6.
Eventually, Barquentine will add other varieties of bierocks to the menu, including an Italian bierock, a Cuban bierock, a pesto chicken bierock, and a vegetarian bierock.

Also debuting at Barquentine on March 29: a new wine and cocktail menu, made possible by Barquentine’s updated Brewpub liquor license, which they’ve adopted in preparation for their second taproom, which will open in Westminster in Spring 2026. Their Edgewater location will serve two draft cocktails: an old-fashioned made with Root Shoot whiskey and a classic margarita, for $10 each. Wine options include pinot grigio, chardonnay, rosé, and cabernet sauvignon for $9 each.
