The Jefferson Junior/Senior High School Athletic Field sign is in need of repair. The wood is rotting, the paint is chipping and the sign is about to fall. This sign is at the entrance to Jefferson at the corner of Pierce Street and 20th Avenue.
The original sign was installed in 2004 and the field was named after former Denver Broncos kicker Jim Turner. Turner volunteered at Jefferson in the early 2000s. Read more about Turner’s time at Jefferson here.
Our Jefferson sports teams are improving and they deserve the best our community has to offer. Donate to help our athletic complex look its best. All funds go to purchasing and installing the new sign.
The new sign will be an aluminum composite material that is stronger and longer lasting than the plywood. Here’s what the new sign will look like:
