City Council Vacancy: On February 1, 2018, City Council declared a City Council Vacancy.  At the March 1, 2018, City Council meeting, Council moved to have that vacancy posted and published until March 28, 2018.  Visit the City’s website to view the Vacancy Notice and application (www.edgewaterco.com).

Public Works and Utilities

New Employee: The Public Works Department hired a new employee this past week, Rick Lucero. Rick comes from a construction background and has already become a great asset to the Public Works Department.

Designated Snow Routes: We all enjoy safe and snow cleared roadways.  To maintain wide plowed snow routes, we ask that vehicles park along Streets, rather than Avenues.  Help our plow drivers keep you safe!

Parks and Recreation

Rec Aide Position: The City of Edgewater is seeking a part-time, seasonal, Recreation Aid performing a variety of manual, clerical, coaching, and routine leadership functions. Duties include working with coaches and youth participants to administrate sports leagues, overseeing youth practices, instructing/coaching youth programs, cancelling activities based on weather, administrating adult sports leagues, facility supervision, and other duties as assigned. This position will work up to four nights each week between the hours of 4:00pm and 10:00pm and weekends as needed, between 10-20 hours each week. This position works under the supervision of the Parks and Recreation Manager.

Youth Egg Hunt: Youth Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, March 31st this year at Citizen’s Park (5440 W. 24th Ave.). Egg Hunt begins promptly at 10am but come early to enjoy music and pictures with the “Bunny”. This year we’ll have 4 age groups.

Dog Egg Hunt: Immediately following the Egg Hunt we will have a dog treat hunt as well.  Dogs must be on a leash to participate. For more information, please visit www.playedgewater.com under the “Special Events” tab.

Hackers Golf Tour: It’s almost spring time and that means Hackers Golf starts up again next month.  The first Friday of every month from April through October we will have a different course to play.  April we will be playing at Indian Tree Golf Course off of 75th and Wadsworth.  Please register at www.playedgewater.com under “Adult Sports” so we know how many tee times to make.  Registration ends March 30th for an April 6th tee time. Tee times are anywhere from 2:45pm-3:30pm.

Building & Planning

Building Permit Inspections: For Building Inspections (with permits) please call our recorder line for inspections at 303-450-8748. (This number is on your permit as well). If you call the number prior to 4 p.m., the inspection will be scheduled for the following work day. Please leave your address, permit number, type of inspection and telephone number when you call for your inspection. Our inspectors receive their assignments in the morning and determine the most efficient route for the day prior to leaving the office. Your inspection could be any time between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. depending on the number of inspections scheduled for that day.
