Public Works Department

Street/ Alley Maintenance: The City of Edgewater will be working with a vendor to provide crack sealing on streets and alleys throughout Edgewater, within the next month. Crack sealing is an important step in protecting the integrity of our asphalt and prolonging the life of the investment the City has made over the past five years. The process will involve cleaning of cracks and filling with asphalt sealant. The process will not provide prolonged street/ alley closures and will be limited to small areas for short periods of time. If there are any questions or concerns with this process, please call 720-763-3012. Thank you for your patience with this process.

Summer Watering: It’s drier than usual this year, and we need everyone to use water efficiently. As warmer weather approaches, we’re reminded just how important it is to use water wisely. Past, present and future: Water connects us all. Below are some points to remember when watering this summer.

  • Water during cooler times of the day — lawn watering is not allowed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
  • Water no more than three days per week.
  • Do not allow water to pool in gutters, streets and alleys.
  • Do not waste water by letting it spray on concrete and asphalt.
  • Repair leaking sprinkler systems within 10 days.
  • Do not irrigate while it is raining or during high winds.
  • Use a hose nozzle with a shut-off valve when washing your car.

Code Enforcement

Code Violation Reporting: Just a reminder that if you see any code issues please contact Code Enforcement by email at codeenforcement@edgewaterco.com or by phone at 720-459-3297.

Graffiti: If you see any graffiti anywhere in the city, whether it is on your property, a neighbor, or city property, please report it immediately so it can be removed as soon as possible.

Parks and Recreation

Citizen Park: There has been a lot use of the horse shoe pit on the south side of the park as a dog park. This area is used frequently for horse shoe tournaments and leagues, and we have seen more dog watste being left in the area. If you do bring your dog into the horse shoe pit area, please be respectful and pick up your dog waste. The Parks department has placed 4 dog poop bags receptacles around the park, one at each entrance, so everyone has plenty of opportunities to take care of their park.
