We love to support and promote our locally owned Edgewater businesses and today we are spotlighting a new business to 25th Avenue, True Essence Spa. True Essence is located next to Sparrow Hair Parlour at 5220 W. 25th Avenue.
Here are our interview with owner Dominique Miller:
How did you get involved in this business?
I have worked in the beauty industry for 8 years now. When I first got out of school I was hired at a high end Salon and Spa located in Texas. This is where I found my passion for skin and hair.
What drew you to move to Edgewater?
We moved to Edgewater over 3 years ago for work. I was hired and still currently employed by Sparrow Hair Parlour. Sparrow was encouraged to move down the block, which gave us the opportunity to open up True Essence Spa. This was a dream that I had for many years. I put it out in the universe and it finally came around.
What services do you offer?
We offer a wide range of facials and body treatments that promote balance of the mind and body while encouraging healthy skin. We incorporate aromatherapy in every service we offer. We also specialize in sugaring, which is a natural hair removal that is healthier and gentle for the skin.
What makes your business unique?
What makes us standout is that we want nothing but the best for our clients and planet. Everything we do and carry has been researched and passed our radar. We look for sustainable and green companies we can collaborate with. We carry organic teas, soaps, bath salts, skincare and essential oils. We believe that each of us can find healing through nature. We promote and support this 100 percent.
We are holding an event next Thursday, August 22 from 5-8. Where we will be showing local artist Amy Ventura’s beautiful organic work. We will be offering mini facials and massages provided with refreshments and wine. Come join us and let us show you what we are about.
