Help Create a Teacher Learning Center at Lumberg Elementary School

Current view of the room that will become the Lumberg Teacher Learning Center

Last year, with the help of neighborhood organizations and community members, Edgewater Collective renovated a space at Molholm Elementary School for teachers to learn and plan together. Now they are ready to bring this same idea to Lumberg Elementary School in Edgewater.

Lumberg hasn’t seen major renovations since it opened in 1955 and Edgewater Collective hopes to rally the community to transform a former classroom into a Teacher Learning Center where teachers and staff can come together to learn, collaborate and be inspired.

Edgewater Collective is listening to Lumberg teachers and staff as they design and outfit the space based on the ideas and dreams of teachers.

The goal is to raise funds so the following items can be purchased:

  • Nice tables on wheels
  • Comfortable chairs
  • Arm chairs and coffee tables for small group planning
  • New bookshelf for books and other supplies
  • New microwave and Keurig coffee maker
  • Paint for the walls
  • And much more!

Let’s come together and support our local teachers in a very practical way!
