The Edgewater Pride Parade and Celebration is this weekend! The parade is this Saturday, June 6, starting at Edgewater Elementary School at 10:30 a.m. The celebration at the Edgewater Public Market will follow the parade.
This year’s Edgewater Pride Grand Marshal is Brandon Beston. Here’s more about Brandon from the person who nominated him for Grand Marshal shared with Edgewater Pride:
“Brandon Beston embodies the heart, resilience, and community spirit that Edgewater Pride represents. Brandon is more than a visible member of the LGBTQ+ community, he is a connector, advocate, and steady presence who shows up consistently for others, often behind the scenes and without recognition. His leadership is rooted in authenticity and service, creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and safe to be exactly who they are. What makes Brandon an exceptional candidate for Grand Marshal is the way he leads with both courage and compassion. He has an innate ability to bring people together across differences, fostering belonging not just within the LGBTQ+ community, but throughout the broader Edgewater and Denver neighborhoods. Brandon’s impact isn’t performative; it’s lived, intentional, and deeply relational. Through his community involvement, mentorship, and advocacy, Brandon has helped normalize visibility while honoring individuality. He uplifts voices that might otherwise go unheard and models what it means to live openly, generously, and with integrity. Brandon represents the past, present, and future of Pride: honoring where we’ve been, showing up fully today, and helping build a more compassionate and inclusive tomorrow.”
The Edgewater Pride Parade was started in the summer of 2020 by community volunteers at the height of the pandemic as a way for the community to come together in supporting and celebrating our LGBTQ+ neighbors.
